e-Gov World 2012 is sixth conference in the series of International e-Government conferences organized by The Society for Promotion of e-Governance. The theme of this year conference is " Mobile Applications for Public Services". The event is scheduled to be held on January 19 -20, 2012 at New Delhi, India
Envisaged Outcomes of e-Gov World 2012
- Networking and synergies between the activities of different governments , multilateral, media, industry and Key stakeholders concerned with m-government, inter alia to avoid duplication and ensure coherence;
- Identification of key mobile applications for public services and Setting up of a forum for exchanging information and ideas on issues related to balanced development of Mobile Applications ecosystem in India with special reference to the m-Governance , m-health and m-education including problems, solutions, capacity building, investment opportunities, best practices and successful initiatives;
- Identification of priority areas of m-Governance related research, and development and promotion of an innovation agenda on mobile applications ;
- Establishment of “action groups” on specific issues according to the problems identified, and development of ideas for realistic approaches/solutions;
- Generation of technical cooperation ideas and redirection of existing technical cooperation projects so that their impact is enhanced; identification of multi-stakeholder projects that fall outside the purview of existing organizations;
- Initiation of pilot projects to test and further develop possible new approaches in dealing with problems; and
- Awareness-raising activities on m-Government issues through website activities, high-level meetings and press releases.
