Vodafone Mobile for Good Awards 2015 nominations are open till July 30, 2015

New Delhi, 22 July. Vodafone Mobile for Good is A platform to recognize and support mobile innovations addressing social issues in India. The applications / nominations for 2015 edition of the awards program ca be submitted till July 30, 2015.

With one of the largest populations in the world and an urgent need to empower our communities, mobile technology can play a significant role in instrumenting large scale impact across the country.  In an effort to respond to this need, Government departments have developed numerous mobile based projects that are leading to a transformational impact across communities.  There are several m-Governance services in areas of citizen services, Agriculture, Health and Education to create a digitally empowered society, in line with the Digitial India movement.

To encourage and celebrate the power of innovative mobile solutions that drive inclusive growth across the country, the Vodafone Foundation launched the ‘Mobile for Good Awards’ in 2011. The Mobile for Good initiative has gathered enormous interest in the last 3 years and this year, in an effort to maximize impact and support tech for good projects, the NASSCOM Foundation has joined hands with the Vodafone Foundation for the Mobile for Good Awards.

The M4G Awards 2015 has 2 categories- ‘Leading Change Maker – NPO Category’ and ‘Leading Change Maker – For profit category’ and invites applications across the 4 crucial areas of Health, Education, Women Empowerment & Inclusive Development and Agriculture. This year to celebrate Government solutions impacting the nation, a special category has been introduced for Government led mobile solutions.

The winner from the Government Solutions category will receive special recognition on a national platform and an opportunity to showcase their innovation at the newly launched ‘Social Apps Marketplace’ in December. There will also be an opportunity to participate in discussions and showcase the solution at a very relevant platform.

The winners from the Nonprofit category will receive funding, mentorship and impact evaluation from partner institutions to build scale and capacity over a period of one year. Winners from the For Profit category will receive national recognition.
