Understand the security challenges associated with Mobile Government Gain critical insights into the business case for Mobile Government Hear from the leaders of Mobile Government services from across the public sector about the challenges they faced and how they overcame them
Mobile government (mGov) is the harnessing of mobile and wireless technologies (including mobile computing using smartphones, Wi-Fi [Wireless Fidelity], RFID [radio frequency identification], GPS [global positioning system]) to:
Delivery customer-focused services
Facilitate the dialogue between and deepen the sense of connectedness experienced by individual citizens as local communities and neighbourhoods are redefined over time
Drive performance levels to improve the experience of using local services
The purpose of GovNet Event's third annual, one-day conference is to examine the benefits of mobile government not only across public sector in the UK but also in the rest of Europe. During the morning sessions speakers will examine the business case, security, technology, change management, workforce and strategic issues (access, availability, standardisation, costs) that must be resolved before designing and implementing plans to enable mobile government.
During the afternoon session, speakers will highlight the issues outlined in the morning by using case study examples.
Finally, expert seminar sessions will discuss in detail key topics that will accelerate the development of your mobile government strategy.
